Jeremy Stead

Kia ora, my names Jeremy and I’m an ocean lover and outdoor enthusiast. My day job consists of running EthicallyMAD (Ethically making a difference) a marketing company I co-founded to help businesses and social enterprises who are doing the right thing. 

One thing about me is, ever since I was a kid I’ve been obsessed with sharks which is where my love of the oceans comes from. 

I remember spending every Sunday outside restaurants in downtown Auckland back in the day before the shark finning ban took place, educating the public on the horrible practice of de finning sharks for shark fin soup. 

We were hated by the local restaurant owners. Understandably we cost them a lot of money, but hey it paid off. It’s now illegal for fisherman to remove the fins from a shark and discard of the body at sea.
