Kia ora, my name is Kate Radloff. I’m originally from Wales, where I completed a BA (Hons) in Communication Studies and a Postgraduate Certificate of Education. In 2002, I moved with my family to Aotearoa, New Zealand. Since then, I’ve been living (and studying) in the same small rural town near the Motueka River, where I am surrounded by beautiful mountains and freshwater.
I regularly get to engage with awesome local farmers, community members, and school students to enhance our local biodiversity, whilst also working to improve the health of the freshwater around us. I’ve been lucky enough to be involved in our local catchment group since its inception and love being able to chair its Biodiversity and Restoration thematic group.
Alongside my voluntary efforts, working as a Wai Connector allows me to combine my love for education and my passion for our environment. I am very grateful to be able to spend time with great people who put in such a huge effort to make a difference.
