My passion for the underwater world began during my time as a scuba diving instructor. Witnessing the decline of marine life, I became dedicated to ocean conservation. Enthusiastic and hands-on, I thrive on personal growth and learning, connecting with individuals, and guiding them beyond their fears to newfound confidence.
My professional experience includes practical snorkeling aspects, gear fitting, marine environments, and freediving techniques, with a strong focus on health and safety protocols and team communication. I am deeply involved in the Whakatū community, spending my free time tramping, biking, swimming, snorkeling, and volunteering at local events and restoration projects.
My previous roles include managing dive centers in Mozambique and Indonesia, where I focused on customer service, sales, marketing, and marine conservation, and training staff. As a research assistant and tutor at the University of Canterbury, NZ, I conducted research on sustainable management and corporate social responsibility.
I hold a Master of Commerce in Management (First Class Honors) from the University of Canterbury, NZ, and a Master of Commerce from the Technical University, Ostrava, Czech Republic. My qualifications include PADI Open Water Instructor, Emergency First Response Instructor, Ski Instructor (NZSIA Level 1), and Yoga Therapy Teacher (500 RYS Yoga Alliance).
My interests include scuba diving, skiing, hiking, cycling, yoga, marine conservation, and community service. I actively volunteer with the Tasman Bay Guardians, OceansWatch, and various NGOs supporting education and rehabilitation programmes.
