Need to Weed

Our workshop aims to:

  • increase the extent and resilience of the existing intact native bush canopy by hand control of high priority pest plants in selected areas.
  • facilitate community group conservation engagement and education that follows best practice and support the ongoing management of the site.

Work on Control
  • Site visit and map of the control area.
  • Identification of target weed species and control phase
What weed is the target species?

Example:

Eradication
  • Use the right tools – gloves and a weeding tool.
  • Grab the weed as close to the ground as possible.
  • Pull up – try to pull the weed and the root together.
  • Dispose of the weed correctly.
Dispose of weed waste wisely
  • Waste taken to an approved landfill.
  • Tarpaulin to cover your load.
