Bring the whole whānau and explore the waters of the Motueka awa during a drift snorkel and community day activities. An experienced snorkel guide and all the necessary equipment will be provided for free!

Educational providers will present on a range of topics including;

  • Macroinvertebrates (bugs) identification
  • Check Clean Dry demonstrations
  • Don’t forget to grab a free sausage to warm up after your snorkel!
  • No experience required. Ages 7+.

Tasman Bay Guardians (TBG) will be running an Experiencing Marine Reserves (EMR) Community Guided Motueka River Snorkel during this event.

ON THE DAY

  • Meet us at the TBG registration tent at the time slot you chose(10am,11am,12pm or 1pm) on your Eventbrite registration. Save a tree and do not print ticket just provide your name.
  • We will then fit you for gear and match you up with a friendly snorkel guide. You may bring your own gear however, NO full face masks please, for safety reasons. We provide snorkel, mask, fins, wetsuits and boogie boards.
  • You’ll have a safety briefing before you try out your gear in the shallows and explore the water with your guide and group for up to 20 minutes.

This event is a collaboration of Motueka Catchment Collective, Tasman Environmental Trust, Wai Connection and Fish and Game NZ.
