“Nau mai haere mai ki Tasman Bay Guardians.”

Connecting people and local waterways

Tasman Bay Guardians works alongside communities, iwi, schools, scientists, agencies, and volunteers to deliver hands-on environmental projects across Te Tau Ihu. Our projects focus on connecting people to their local waterways and coastlines through restoration, monitoring, citizen science, and community action.

From seagrass restoration and marine monitoring to community reporting networks and freshwater habitat protection, these initiatives help build long-term stewardship and practical conservation outcomes from the mountains to the sea.

Many of these projects also connect closely with our education programmes, creating opportunities for students and communities to contribute to real-world environmental action and ongoing restoration efforts.
